The only wine produced at Fanciulle in 2023, Vigneto Primo emerged from a small limestone variation hidden within an otherwise sandy site outside Florence that I had long considered unremarkable. The result is a wine that combines the soft texture of sandy soils, the mouth-watering tension that limestone can bring and the nuanced aromatics of high vineyard sites.
